We have really enjoyed the special events and unique contributions brought in by Galeria Dara's shows.  The links below will take you to the press releases of the events along with photos of the events and bios of the artists.

Galeria Dara past shows

The first show in 2002 was Afghanistan Home, showcasing Afghani interiors.  This was in conjunction with a relief effort we had for Afghanistan.  Customers were very generous in donating clothing and other items (including a pedal sewing machine and two bicycles!).

We then featured PR-AH, KEMET (House of Egypt) with original works by Hm-sef Su Ta-Net, a local and talented African-American artist.

In 2001 we showed the work of several artists with diverse styles and backgrounds.  Opening nights were accompanied by great parties with live music and performances.  Some highlights included belly-dancing, capoeira from Brazil and drumming by singers of the American Indian Center.
