I made this quilt for my nephew, Nathan, who was six at the time and loved reptiles and creatures of the sea.  I used the pillowing technique again (see Ex-Huz), but this time I didn't need any batting because the faux fur is so thick.  That is his favorite side, by the way.  His name and the fish are appliquéd on, with chain stitching around the name. 

I tried attaching the frogs and snakes on with embroidery thread, but when I put it through the wash to test it out, several of them fell off.  And, they got soft in the dryer, so although I liked the idea and he LOVED it, there are probably better options out there.
