Welcome! News 2010 Resources Check List

Welcome to TAFA!

My hope is that TAFA will help all of us generate more business and provide us with a supportive web community!

Process for submitting the information needed for your TAFA profile:

STEP ONE:

Fill out the following form.  Make sure the scroll bar starts at the top.

Email me three photos.   You can have three photos.  Ideally, one will be a banner, another one with you and a third of a product.  Some people do not like to have their images on the web and that is fine, but I feel that it makes it more personal to have a people photo.  I will email you back when your profile is posted.  You can then review it, test your links and ask for revisions that you want made.  I don't mind making occasional revisions, but please keep it to essential information.

When your profile is up, make sure to sign up for email notifications in your comment section.  That way you will know when someone has left a comment.  You can use that to make announcements, too.

STEP TWO:

Join our private Facebook group for members only:

The group is there to discuss ideas, network and make plans.  There are discussion points and all members are welcome to post photos and links.  Everybody is busy, but I hope that even if there is limited involvement, we will be fully represented there.

This is our public fan page:

Networked Blogs and Fan Pages:  If you have a fan page and a blog that is registered on Networked Blogs, send me the links and I will add them on to our fan page.  Networked Blogs is an independent app on facebook.  You have to register with them which will give your blog its own fan page and from there you can link it to your fan page to post automatically.  Anyone who follows it can also have it post to their fan page and blog posts will be streamlined automatically.  So, for TAFA members, I become a follower and then have it post to the TAFA fan page. If you want to have your favorite blogs post to your fan page, here is how you do it:  Go to the blog's page on Networked Blogs.  Become a follower.  Go back to your fan page.  Click on "edit" under the Icon.  Scroll down until you see "Networked Blogs".  Click on it.  You will see a list of blogs that you are following.  Click on the ones that you want to post to your fan page.  If you are busy, busy, busy, this is an easy way to generate content on your fan page with little effort.

Fan pages will be  listed in the favorites box on the TAFA Fan Page.  If you only have a personal page, we can't add it.  But, you can load photos and drive people there, too.  I really recommend setting up a fan page if you do not have one.  If you like other fan pages, share the love and tag them as favorites for your fan page.  How?  Go to the fan page you like.  Click on "Add to my page's favorites" under your icon.  A box will open up where you can designate which fan page you want that to show up on.  I have several, so a list of them shows up.

STEP THREE:

Promote the site!  If you are familiar with the concept of viral marketing, you will know that that is how Facebook, Twitter and other big names grew.  One person liked it, told their friends who told their friends who told their friends and so on.  A catchy disease!

Some easy steps to help draw people to the site, potential members AND customers!
  • Save the logo to a file and post it around with the link to the site.  Our web address:  www.tafalist.com
  • (Right click on the logo below and you should be able to save it to your computer.)

  • The TAFA list is a blog and I added it onto Networked Blogs on Facebook.  Become a Follower of the blog and it will show up in your news stream.  Every time a new member is added to the list, a new post will be generated.  Share that with your friends.  If they keep seeing it, they will get curious and go check it out.
  • Include TAFA as an organization where you have a membership.  You can add your profile address on to your email message, on your promotional materials, and anywhere else where you have a presence.  Encourage people to leave a comment on your profile if they are happy with your work or product.  Make sure you sign up for emails on comments left on your profile so that you can respond to them.  Remember that your TAFA member profile is intended to draw people to your website and online shops.  Just think how impressive it would be if someone visits it and sees raving comments about you there!
Those are easy things that will generate a lot of traffic to TAFA.  Tell people you invite to the list to name you as the reference so that you get sponsor credits.  I will also be able to tell where people are coming from because I am having it tracked on Google Analytics.  But, that just gives me traffic, not specifics on who has joined.  I also have an excel file for the group so that I can keep track of things.

That's it!  Get me your info and I will set you up!

Many thanks and may we all benefit from this!
