Valerie Hearder was born in South Africa and moved to Canada in 1975.  Since then, she has taken her love of stitch to produce her own art quilts and to build a bridge with her native land. For many years, she imported embroideries and other crafts from small collectives, but now focuses on leading tours from Canada to South Africa where they visit the artists she worked with and nature reserves. Valerie is a member of TAFA.
